**Note: I have shut down these pages for now. I didn’t get enough engagement. However, I am more than happy to start it back up again if there is interest. I really believe in it; I just didn’t want to do it alone.
When my son, Casey, got home from his service mission in June, he encouraged me to use my speaking voice more to make a difference. I have been using the written word for a long time, but I took his challenge seriously. I thought and thought about it, and an idea came to my mind. It just felt right. I told him about it, and he helped me name a new social media account with the goal of helping others become more empathetic and compassionate. We decided on the name: Embracing Humankind. I want everyone who comes across my page to feel welcome there and I truly want to build a community of people who strives to help others feel loved and know of their worth.
Here is the mission statement of the group: Through weekly challenges, we can more fully embrace humankind as we become more loving, compassionate, empathetic, and understanding to all people. By small actions, we can change the world, one person at a time.
The group has ended its second week now, and I am slowly building up a community. This past week I offered three challenges, and plan to continue them for as long as I can. I am starting small and will build up as we go.
